Probate is the court supervised process of gathering a deceased person's assets, paying any debts and taxes, then distributing what is left to the beneficiaries. In the absence of a dispute between family and creditors, little court supervision is usually necessary, but the process can be quite complicated and typically legal documents to transfer for ownership need to be completed and processed.
Your Attorney will meet with you to go over the process and explain the steps for you.
Your Attorney will assist you in reviewing the will and other estate planning documents, as well as the assets and debts of the estate.
